Booking a bartender for house party Gurgaon plans starts at Rs. 3,500 on Barmen's price guide, for one person with basic tools, before taxes. A menu of cocktails with ice and garnishes costs more, and the liquor is always a separate bill.
The first number is rarely the final number, though. Mixers, glasses, extra hours and sometimes a licence sit outside it. This guide shows the price ladder, works out a real sum for 20 guests, and lists what to ask before you pay anyone.
In Gurugram? Barmen can send a bartender for your party, and a Barmen runner can fetch your bottles, mixers and snacks from a licensed store. You pay the shop directly. 21+ only, ID checked at handover. Say Hi to Barmen on WhatsApp
There is no fixed market rate. Prices depend on the number of guests, the hours and how much of the bar the bartender brings. We can only print the prices we can stand behind, so here is Barmen's own house party guide for parties under 100 guests. These are indicative, taxes are extra, and the team confirms the final price after a call.
Just a Bartender, Rs. 3,500. One bartender with basic bar tools, standard drinks and simple cocktails. You provide the alcohol and the mixers.
Essence, Rs. 7,999. One bartender, a menu of 3 to 4 cocktails plus standard drinks, ice, tools and simple garnishes.
Elevate, Rs. 11,999. One or two bartenders, a signature cocktail menu, basic shots, custom drink tags, an LED menu and bar props.
Opulent, Rs. 24,999. A premium bartending team, a 12 foot bar with lighting and props, and a wide list of cocktails and mocktails.
For comparison, we also read one large wedding directory on 3 November. Bar vendors listed for Gurugram and Delhi NCR show starting prices from under Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 1.5 lakh. Most of those are wedding bar firms with big teams, so they do not compare directly with one person at a house party. They do show why a price without a guest count means very little.
Most surprises come from these lines. Check each one when you get a quote from anyone.
Liquor. A bartender's fee does not include bottles. You buy them from a licensed shop, in your name, and you keep the bill.
Mixers and ice. Some plans include ice and some do not. Soda, cola and tonic are often yours to arrange. Barmen can bring them at Rs. 175 per guest, or send you a list so you can buy them yourself.
Glasses. Tools are common and glasses are not. Barmen rents glasses at Rs. 40 each in sets of 6, and a broken glass costs Rs. 275.
Hours. Barmen treats six hours as a standard bar, and extra hours are charged. Ask anyone else when their clock starts and whether setup counts.
Travel. Barmen's house party plans include local travel within city limits. Other bartenders may charge for it, so ask.
Taxes. Ask whether the number you heard already includes them.
A licence, if you cross the limit. This one depends on your stock, and we explain it below.
Here is a worked example for a party of 20 at home, on Barmen's guide prices, with two glasses per guest. That comes to 40 glasses, so you rent seven sets of 6, which makes 42.
The simple plan, Rs. 8,680 before taxes.
Just a Bartender: Rs. 3,500
Mixers from Barmen, 20 guests at Rs. 175: Rs. 3,500
42 glasses at Rs. 40: Rs. 1,680
The cocktail plan, Rs. 13,179 before taxes.
Essence: Rs. 7,999
Mixers from Barmen: Rs. 3,500
42 glasses at Rs. 40: Rs. 1,680
You can bring either sum down. If you own enough glasses and buy the mixers yourself, the simple plan falls back to Rs. 3,500 before taxes. The liquor is on top in both cases, and our guide on how much liquor for a party of 20 helps you count the bottles.
How many people do you need? Barmen plans one bartender per 45 guests, so one person is enough for most house parties. If the menu is long, or everyone arrives at the same time, a second pair of hands helps.
Ask these on the phone, and get the answers on WhatsApp so that you have them in writing.
Who exactly is coming, and how many years have they worked behind a bar?
What do you bring, and what must I arrange: tools, ice, mixers, garnishes, glasses?
How many hours does this price cover, what does each extra hour cost, and when does the clock start?
Is this the final price, with taxes and travel included?
How much do I pay now, how much on the day, and what happens if I cancel?
Do you pour with a measure? Pouring by eye can eat a large part of your stock.
Will you refuse a guest under 21, and a guest who has clearly had enough?
Who counts the bottles at the end? Unopened bottles should come back to you.
Do you want me to buy the liquor through you? If so, ask for the licensed shop's bill in your name. If no bill exists, walk away.
For comparison, here is how Barmen handles the money. Half the bar amount confirms the date and the balance is paid one day before the event. Barmen does not sell liquor and takes no advance on it. Unopened bottles are counted and handed back.
Picture Ritika, in a flat in Sushant Lok, with 20 friends over on a Saturday. She saved the fee and decided to pour herself. By 9 pm she has made the same drink eleven times. The ice is low, nobody is measuring, and one bottle has gone much faster than the sum said it would. She has not spoken to her oldest friend, who came from Pune for this.
The bartender's fee buys three things. You get your evening back. Your stock lasts as long as you planned. And someone other than you has the job of saying no to a guest who has had enough. If you have 8 close friends over, you may not need one. At 20 and above, most hosts feel the difference.
Gurugram mein ho? Barmen ka runner aapki taraf se licensed store se bottle, mixers aur chakna le aata hai, aur party ke liye bartender bhi mil jaata hai. Aap dukaan ko seedha pay karte ho. Sirf 21+, handover pe ID check. WhatsApp pe Hi bolo
On our reading of Haryana's Excise Policy 2025-27, the licence follows the liquor at your party. Hiring a bartender is not what triggers it. The temporary licence, called an L-12A, applies when liquor is served beyond one person's possession limit. For IMFL, that limit is 12 bottles of 750 ml.
At your own home, the L-12A costs Rs. 5,000 per day per function. You apply online at least three working days before the party, and it runs until 2 am the next day at the latest. Our Gurugram house party checklist has the full limits. This is not legal advice, so ask the district excise office if your list sits close to a number. Barmen can file the licence for you. The government fee stays the same, and the team confirms Barmen's own filing fee separately.
Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November, so many card parties will happen on Saturday, 7 November. Good bartenders get booked first in a week like this, and prices can move, so ask today. If your stock is above the limit for a party on Saturday the 7th, we count Wednesday, 4 November as the latest day to apply for an L-12A.
Diwali is not on Haryana's list of dry days in the policy. It is a retail dry day in Delhi under the excise order of 24 September. If you are hosting in Delhi, buy your stock before the 8th. Do not plan to carry stock across the border for your party.
The Delhi rules differ. The legal drinking age is 25, and a party above the home limit needs a P-10 permit. You may also have seen news of DSIIDC's online booking, reported on 27 October. It lets you pay in advance, but you collect the bottles yourself within 48 hours, and it covers only DSIIDC shops. There is no home delivery. The steps are in our Delhi Liquor Booking app guide. The prices above are Barmen's Gurugram guide, so for a Delhi party the team gives you a price on a call.

Barmen's guide price starts at Rs. 3,500 plus taxes for one bartender with basic tools, where you provide the alcohol and mixers. A cocktail menu with ice and garnishes is Rs. 7,999. These prices are indicative, and the team confirms the final price after a call. Other bartenders set their own rates.
No. A bartender's fee covers the service, not the bottles. You buy the liquor from a licensed shop and keep the bill in your name. Be careful with anyone who offers to bundle bottles into the bartender's price without a shop bill. Unopened bottles at the end of the night stay with you.
Barmen plans one bartender per 45 guests, so one person suits most house parties. Consider a second person when you have a long cocktail menu or when most guests will arrive together. For a very simple menu of whisky, beer and soda, one person can handle a full house comfortably.
Barmen treats six hours as a standard bar, and extra hours are charged. Other bartenders work on their own terms, so ask how many hours the price covers and when the clock starts. Setup can take up part of that time, so agree a start time that suits your first guest.
On our reading of the Haryana policy, the licence depends on the liquor and not on the bartender. Stock within the possession limit at your own home needs no L-12A. Above the limit, the fee is Rs. 5,000 per day per function, and you apply at least three working days ahead.
Yes, in Golf Course Road up to Sun City, DLF Phase 1 to 5, Sushant Lok and Galleria. A Barmen runner goes to a licensed store for you. The runner never buys for you. You pay the shop directly and the bill is in your name. It is 21+ only, with ID checked at handover.
In Gurugram? Tell Barmen your guest count and your date, and the team will call you with a price for the bartender. A runner can do the store trip too. You pay the shop directly. 21+ only, ID checked at handover. Say Hi to Barmen on WhatsApp
